Choose your hard; everything in life is hard, so which hard will you choose?

I have a confession to make... last week I wrote that I was a 'recovering perfectionist' and this week, it seems that I am less recovering, and indeed still deep in the addiction phase 😅

I have been working on my website for awhile now and I could probably sit on it for another 4 weeks before I think it is 'perfect' enough for release to the big wide world. But in the spirit of vulnerability and recovery and transparency, I have decided to publish it anyway... and I welcome all feedback! Seriously, please reach out to me and let me know what you think.

Sometimes, it is precisely the scary, hard, and intimidating action that we need to make in order to grow and move forward. In this case, I would love to have your feedback, the good, the bad, the ugly, so that I can get out of my own head and perfectionistic tendencies!

I am choosing my hard this week, and instead of sitting there procrastinating and deliberating about fonts and colours and messaging- I am choosing to deliver this new website to you because in the end it's not really the website that matters. It's my energy. My experience. My skillset. My training. My business as a Life Coach. My services that I'm offering to you.

What are my services?

I'm so glad you asked! I am now a life coach, and the easiest way that I can describe this is that I help you reach your goals and find more fulfilment in your life. It is similar to any other coach: I hold you accountable to your goals. The difference is that instead of hard sprinting drills or tackling practise, I have other tools that I will support you with so you can upskill your mindset. When you have a solid understanding of how your mind operates, you can identify what's working for you and what's working against you, and then feel more confident and empowered to get where you want to go.

Another way of looking at life coaching is to compare it to seeing a therapist- while I am a huge advocate for therapy, life coaching is very different. We both work with the mind and with emotions. However, a therapist is usually focussed on looking at the past and how that affects us emotionally.

As a life coach, I focus on looking at where you are in life presently, where you want to be in the future, and how to get you there.

It's not just about setting goals and checking in with you every week... if you've ever tried to make a New Years resolution then you've probably experienced that dismal, sinking feeling of failure with goal-setting. Or had to sit through a patronising session of creating SMART goals at work (cue the eye roll!) The neuroscience behind this is so much more nuanced and in-depth. I have been studying the subconscious mind, daily habits, neurolinguistic programming, values, limiting beliefs, energetics, quantum physics, philosophy and identity, reiki, TIME techniques, and Emotional Freedom Tapping for months now.

I am so passionate about the importance and the value of learning about this stuff, and it's frustrating that it's taken me this long to learn how my own mind works. We learn about our physical bodies, our hormones and our sex drive, and even bloody Pythagoras theorem at school but we never learn how our mind truly works and how influential it is in every single decision we make. It's been a complete 360 for me, not just physically but mentally too, and I have all of this study and my coaches to thank for it.

I follow quite a few different modalities that help to explain who I am and what I'm doing here in this lifetime and some of them might be a bit 'woo' for you, but one of my favourites is Human Design. It is a blend of astrology, philosophy, Myers-Biggs pseudo-science, and quantum physics that gives you a 'manual' for how you best operate in life as an individual.

When I first heard about Human Design last year and realised that there are certain traits and perspectives that we are assigned at birth, something finally clicked into place for me.

These energetic traits are part of what make us unique, but they also give us our power and form part of our purpose in this life. My energy type is a 6/2 Projector, and I see the big-picture that a lot of other people can't see. It has helped me countless times when I can clearly see the best systems and processes to achieve desired outcomes effectively and efficiently. I am not designed to work for hours on end, or to sit still and idle either. I'm somewhere in the middle. My energy type means that I work best in short, sharp bursts when the inspiration hits me and when I see a worthy idea. Being a 6/2 also means that I am a role model and I see the best in people, their potential, and their highest self aspirations even when they can't see it in themselves. It's why people feel seen and heard when they talk with me.

This will probably come as no surprise to anybody who has worked with me before; I am most confident when I am leading with integrity and supporting others to achieve their best. It's part of my unique skillset and it makes me so excited to be able to use this energy in a purposeful way, where I can help others achieve joy, success, and clarity in their purpose.

My quote for the week: Choose your hard. Everything in life is hard, so which hard will you choose?

This is my new 'hard'. Designing business systems and websites that I really am just learning all about as I go. I taught websites as a senior English teacher, but it feels infinitely different when I'm creating my own little 'baby' for everyone to see. My mindset work right now- yes, because even coaches have coaches and continue working on their mindset- is to relish the journey of learning something new. So often I want to jump ahead seven steps and be the best there is straight away. To appear 'perfect' at it. to be the 'role model'.

Instead, I am slowing down and enjoying that process of designing a website and opening up my offers of coaching one-on-one sessions to you, because that is the work that is most important right now. I made a conscious choice to leave my 9-5 teaching job, to leave my house, to travel and start a business. When I accept that these are my choices, all of the hard becomes just a little bit easier. Because even on its worst day, it's still my choice. And it such an honour and a joy to be able to serve, and support, and help you find your own spark again.

How I can help you:

As part of my new business, I am giving not one, but two people TWO FREE coaching sessions with me. The first two people to book in for a discovery call with me will get two additional 60 minute sessions for free (valued at over $230!!!)

The sessions will take place over Zoom over two weeks. This would be best if you have a goal already in mind, an excuse that you'd like to bust through, or a bad habit to break... maybe even perfectionism?! 😅

This is your ideal opportunity to learn how powerful mindset work can be for you. In return, I'd love to grab a testimonial off you at the end.

If you are interested in working with me then please book in for a FREE 30 minute discovery call. We will discuss where you are in life right now, what you believe is holding you back, and where you want to be. We'll chat about how life coaching can support you and then get you started on your journey to finding more from life.

Don't sit on the fence for too long- fast action takers are those who will see the results in life. Choose your hard wisely: sitting in indecision is a choice that you are making, and it creates a self-fulfilling cycle of self-doubt. If something calls out to your heart, then it is yours for a reason and you should trust yourself with that decision instead of going backwards and forwards on it.

Until next week, I hope it's all love and laughter ✨

Haley 🤍

P.S. Still working on finding THE van so I can start my travels. Send love and positive thoughts my way and hopefully in next week's newsletter I'll be telling you all about the amazing chain of events that brought it about, and how lucky I am to have found it!
